Website design for medical practices and businesses

MAD Lion Digital designs and builds websites for medical practices, clinics, hospitals and local businesses: fast, mobile-first sites in English and Spanish, with forms and booking connected, analytics and conversion tracking in place, and accessibility built in from the start. We are a physician-led agency based in Las Vegas, so the medical websites we build also account for patient privacy and the rules that apply to healthcare.

What’s included

  • Design and build: a page for each service and location, in plain language, with your phone number and booking button within reach on a phone. Google indexes and ranks the mobile version of a site’s content, so we design for phones first.
  • Speed: built for Google’s Core Web Vitals targets, measured at the 75th percentile of page loads: Largest Contentful Paint within 2.5 seconds, Interaction to Next Paint of 200 milliseconds or less, and Cumulative Layout Shift of 0.1 or less.
  • English and Spanish: complete Spanish pages written for Spanish speakers, linked with hreflang tags so Google can show each visitor the right version.
  • Forms and booking: appointment requests, online booking and click-to-call, connected to your scheduling tools where they support it.
  • Analytics and conversion tracking: calls, forms and bookings measured, with a privacy-safe setup on healthcare sites.
  • Accessibility: designed with WCAG 2.1 Level AA as the target.
  • Structured data: local business markup with your name, address, phone and hours, using the most specific business type available.

Who it’s for

Practices, clinics, hospitals and med spas that need a site patients can use on a phone, and businesses in retail, financial services, cleaning services, food service, architecture, engineering and technology that want their website to bring in leads, not just describe the company. We also build landing pages for ad campaigns.

How we work

  1. Diagnosis: we measure your current site’s speed, mobile experience, tracking, accessibility and search visibility.
  2. Plan: the page structure, content in each language, forms and integrations, and the conversions we’ll track.
  3. Execution: we design, write and build the site, test it on phones and for accessibility, and launch with redirects from your old addresses.
  4. Monthly follow-up: a report on traffic, leads and Core Web Vitals, plus updates and fixes.

Accessibility rules

The Department of Justice says businesses open to the public must make their websites accessible under the ADA, and it points to WCAG as helpful guidance without setting a specific technical standard. Healthcare providers that receive HHS federal financial assistance, a group HHS says ranges from large hospital systems to small local clinics, have a firmer rule: under Section 504, their websites and mobile apps must conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

As of October 2026, an HHS interim final rule effective May 7, 2026 has moved the compliance dates to May 11, 2027 for recipients with 15 or more employees and May 10, 2028 for smaller ones. HHS plans further rulemaking that could change the requirements, so ask your compliance advisor whether the rule applies to you.

Privacy-safe tracking for healthcare

HHS guidance says tracking technologies on pages that require a login, such as patient portals, generally have access to protected health information, and that a cookie banner is not a valid HIPAA authorization. Google says it doesn’t offer business associate agreements for Google Analytics and that its tags shouldn’t go on pages likely to be covered by HIPAA. So on medical sites we keep ad pixels and analytics off portals, intake forms and appointment flows, and count conversions without patient details.

Our guide to HIPAA and tracking pixels explains the details, and medical website must-haves covers the notices and features patients expect.

This is general information, not legal advice. Confirm your accessibility and privacy obligations with your attorney or compliance advisor.

Frequently asked questions

Do you build bilingual websites?

Yes. We build complete English and Spanish versions, each at its own address, and connect them with hreflang tags. Google says each language version must list itself and every other version, and it ignores tags that aren’t reciprocal.

Does our website need to meet WCAG 2.1 AA?

If you receive HHS federal financial assistance, the Section 504 rule requires it, with compliance dates of May 11, 2027 or May 10, 2028 depending on your size. For other businesses, WCAG is the guidance the Department of Justice points to. Either way, it makes the site easier for every visitor to use.

Does a Nevada business website need a privacy notice?

Often, yes. NRS 603A.340 requires operators of commercial websites that collect certain personal information from Nevada consumers to post a notice of what they collect, the kinds of third parties they share it with and whether third parties may track visitors across sites. HIPAA-covered entities aren’t operators under the law, and Nevada-based operators that earn most of their revenue from sources other than online sales and have fewer than 20,000 unique visitors a year are exempt from the notice.

Can we use Google Analytics on a medical website?

On general public pages, with care. Google doesn’t sign business associate agreements for Analytics, and it says to keep its tags off logged-in pages and health-related pages that are likely to be covered by HIPAA. We map which pages can carry analytics with you and your compliance advisor.
