Medical marketing for doctors, clinics, hospitals and med spas

Medical marketing is the work of helping patients find your practice, trust it and book an appointment: showing up in local search, earning honest reviews, running ads that follow healthcare rules and measuring which efforts bring in new patients. It is the specialty of MAD Lion Digital, a physician-led marketing agency based in Las Vegas, Nevada. We work with doctors, clinics, hospitals and med spas, in English and Spanish.

Why a physician leads our agency

Our founder, Dr. Alejandro Matheu, is a physician with an MBA and an MSc in digital marketing, and a doctoral researcher in Public Health. He founded his first agency in Guatemala in 2012 and expanded to Las Vegas in 2018. The agency became MAD Lion Digital in 2024.

That background shows up in the work. We understand how patients choose a doctor when they are worried, in pain or comparing insurance networks. We write in plain language without getting the medicine wrong, so your physicians spend less time correcting drafts. And we know where healthcare advertising and patient privacy rules draw the line before a campaign goes live, not after.

What’s included

  • Local search: Google Business Profile management, consistent listings on health directories and SEO for medical practices, by location and by provider.
  • Reviews: a compliant way to ask every patient for feedback, HIPAA-aware replies and regular monitoring, as part of reputation management.
  • Advertising: Google Ads and social media campaigns planned around each platform’s health policies, with call and form tracking. See ads management.
  • Websites: fast, mobile-friendly sites and landing pages with provider bios, clear booking paths and accessible forms. See website design.
  • Email: patient newsletters and reactivation campaigns sent from our own infrastructure, with list verification. See email marketing services.
  • Spanish-language marketing: pages, ads and social media written for Spanish-speaking patients. See Hispanic marketing.
  • Measurement: a monthly report on calls and appointment requests, and on cost per new patient where your data allows it, not just clicks and impressions.

Who it’s for

Independent physicians and group practices in primary care and specialties, multi-location clinics, urgent care centers, hospital departments and service lines, and med spas and aesthetic practices, where advertising claims need extra care. If your business is outside healthcare, we apply the same diagnostic approach; see all our marketing services.

How we work

  1. Diagnosis. A free marketing diagnosis of your website, Business Profile, reviews and ads, and of how your front desk handles calls and forms.
  2. Plan. Priorities, a budget and measurable goals, such as new-patient calls or booking requests per month, plus who approves clinical content on your side.
  3. Execution. We build and run the work. Clinical statements are checked with your physicians before they are published.
  4. Monthly follow-up. A report and a review with you: what moved, what it cost and what we change next month.

Healthcare compliance notes

These notes reflect the rules as of October 2026. They are general information, not legal advice; confirm decisions with your compliance advisor or attorney.

  • Business associate agreements. Under HIPAA, a vendor that creates, receives, maintains or transmits protected health information for your practice is a business associate, and you need a written agreement with it before sharing that information. We map which tools touch patient data before we connect anything.
  • Tracking technologies. In June 2024 a federal court vacated part of the HHS guidance on online tracking, the part about public pages viewed by visitors who aren’t logged in. The guidance still says tracking on patient portals and other logged-in pages generally has access to protected health information. Our guide to HIPAA and tracking pixels explains what this means for your site.
  • Marketing with patient information. HIPAA generally requires a patient’s written authorization before their information is used for marketing, with limited exceptions. Certain communications about your own health-related services don’t count as marketing under the rule.
  • Health ads. Google treats health as a sensitive category: ads about health conditions can’t use advertiser-curated audiences, such as Customer Match lists, and some categories, including prescription drug services and, in certain locations, addiction services, need certification before ads can run. Our article on Google Ads for medical practices covers the details.

Frequently asked questions

Do you only work with medical practices?

No. Healthcare is our specialty, but we also work with businesses in retail, sports, financial services, cleaning services, food service, architecture, engineering, technology and more.

Do you need access to our patients’ information?

Most marketing work doesn’t require it. When a project would involve protected health information, such as patient email lists or call recordings, we review it first with you and your compliance advisor, including whether a business associate agreement is needed.

Can you market our practice in Spanish?

Yes. We run campaigns in English and Spanish, written for each audience rather than translated word for word.

How soon will we see results?

It depends on your market and your starting point. Ads can start bringing in calls soon after launch, while local SEO and reviews build over months. Your plan sets goals and a timeline we review together every month. We don’t promise rankings or patient numbers.

Do you work with practices outside Las Vegas?

Yes. We work in person across the Las Vegas valley and remotely with practices elsewhere in the United States. We also have an office in Guatemala.
